Calculate labour, margin & VAT

How it's calculated (visible formula)

bags = ceil(volume × (1 + waste) ÷ yield per bag); 80 lb ≈ 0.6 cu ft, 60 lb ≈ 0.45 cu ft

See methodology and formula versions

How to calculate it, step by step

  1. Work out the concrete volume (use the concrete calculator if needed).
  2. Pick the bag size.
  3. Add 5% waste.
  4. Divide by yield per bag.
  5. Work out total mixing water.

Worked example: 17.7 cu ft (0.5 m³) with 55 lb (25 kg) bags

  1. 0.5 × 1.05 = 0.525 m³
  2. ÷ 0.012 m³ per bag ≈ 43.8

→ 44 bags (about 2,400 lb) — or about 31 bags of 80 lb.
