Calculate labour, margin & GST

How it's calculated (visible formula)

pieces = ceil(perimeter × (1 + waste) ÷ piece length); miters = 2 × corners

See methodology and formula versions

How to calculate it, step by step

  1. Measure the room perimeter.
  2. Count inside and outside corners.
  3. Add 10–15% for miters and splices.
  4. Divide by piece length and round up.
  5. Work out adhesive and caulk.

Worked example: Room with 59 ft perimeter, 4 corners

  1. 59 × 1.10 ≈ 65 ft
  2. 65 ÷ 8 ft ≈ 8.1 → 9 pieces
  3. 8 miters

→ 9 pieces of 8 ft and 3 tubes of adhesive.
