How it's calculated (visible formula)
cost = area × sides × (material + labor) + extras
- Net geometric measurement, no waste.
- Adjustable waste % for cuts and breakage.
- Purchase rounded up to sellable units (boxes, bags, buckets, boards).
How to calculate it, step by step
- Measure wall area.
- Enter one or two sides.
- Enter your material and labor price per area per side.
- Add extras: insulation, openings, trim.
- Review total and cost per area of wall.
Worked example: 430 sq ft wall, both sides, $12/m² material, $18/m² labor
- 80 m² × $12 = $960
- 80 m² × $18 = $1,440
→ $2,400 (about $5.60 per sq ft of wall).
Common mistakes
- Pricing one side when the wall has two.
