Calculate labour, margin & GST

How it's calculated (visible formula)

main runners ≈ 0.83 m/m² (every 4 ft); 4 ft tees ≈ 1.39 per m²; 2 ft tees ≈ 1.39 per m² (2×2 only); wall angle = perimeter

See methodology and formula versions

How to calculate it, step by step

  1. Measure the room and draw a centered grid layout.
  2. Install wall angle at finished height with a laser.
  3. Hang main runners every 4 ft.
  4. Add 4 ft cross tees and, for 2×2, 2 ft tees.
  5. Hang wires every 4 ft along each main.

Worked example: 20 × 16 ft room, 2 × 2 tiles

  1. ≈ 30 m² × 0.83 × 1.05 ≈ 26 m → 8 mains
  2. ≈ 44 four-foot tees (and 44 two-foot tees)
  3. Wall angle ≈ 76 ft

→ 8 mains, 44 + 44 tees, 76 ft of angle and 21 hangers.
